Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where is Glenorchy?

A: Glenorchy is a small village located at the head of Lake Wakatipu, just 45-minute drive from Queenstown. We are located at 64 Oban Street.

Q: What are the ages for children’s rates?

A: Children are from 5 – 14 years of age inclusive and are charged accordingly. Under 5-year-olds are deemed an infant and are free at all times

Q: Are all your accommodation and amenities smoke free?

A: So that all our guests may be smoke free we enforce a NO SMOKING policy in and around all our communal areas.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Yes, we understand your furry friends are a part of the family and we welcome them to stay with you. However, we do have a few conditions around allowing your fur baby to stay with us. We ask that you please familiarise yourself with our pet policy before bringing pets to stay with us.

Q: What are your hours?

A: There are curently no office hours. The activities hut will however be manned later in the season. We invite you to book your campsite and pay on-line. Then once you have selected your campsite you can self-checkin. The site managers will come around at some point during your stay.

Q: What methods of payment do you accept?

A: We accept cash, eftpos, mastercard & visa. There is a 2.5% surcharge on all payments made with a mastercard or visa.

Q: Do I need to pre-book a site?

A: We recommend that you do, to avoid disappointment on arrival.

Q: Can I make an online booking?

A: Absolutely simply click the Book Now button at the top of the page. 

Q: What time is check in / check out?

A: Check in is any time after 2pm on your scheduled day of arrival, with check out before 10am on the day of departure. Please note that it is self-check in so be sure to know what site you have booked.

Q: Can I check in early?

A: This really depends on how busy we were the night before and how quickly we can get through the daily cleaning. The best thing to do is contact us the day before arrival and speak to one of the team to see if this is a possible option. Sorry, there are no guarantees.

Q: Do you offer late checkouts?

A: This will really depend on how busy we are. Again, the best thing to do is talk to one of the team on your arrival to see if this is an option. Sorry, there are no guarantees.

Q: What is your noise policy?

A: We expect guests to be considerate of their fellow guests and to keep noise to an absolute minimum between 10pm- 7am. This includes noise from vehicles, motor bikes, music and talking.

Q: What should I do if there is a medical emergency or another type of emergency?

A: If you or someone is having a medical emergency, call 111 and notify management of the situation. We are located at 64 Oban Street, Glenorchy

If another type of emergency is occurring, call 111 and select FIRE or POLICE.  Again, please notify management of the situation.

Q: Where can I get a great coffee?

A: You can get a great coffee and great food with excellent service from Mrs Woolly’s General Store, right next door….sooooooo good!!

Q: How much is the WiFi?

A: We provide free & unlimited WiFi for our guests. Please collect the WiFi access code on arrival.
